Without a track season this spring, were missing out on top sprinters lighting up tracks all across the Metro Detroit area. If the track & field season had not been canceled, who would have owned the track this spring in the sprinting events?
We are turning to the fans to decide. Who is your choice for the top male sprinter from Metro Detroit?

Logan Allen, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s
Junior
Allen was just one of two sophomores to qualify for the Division 2 state championships in the 110 meter hurdles. He was the youngest All-State finisher by taking third with a personal best time of 14.85. He was also the Catholic League A-B champion in the 110 hurdles.
Michael Bowens, Oak Park
Senior
He was last year’s Oakland County champion in the 100 meter and 200 meter. Last season, he recorded personal-best times of 10.94 in the 100 and 22.32 in the 200. Although he did not compete individually at states, he was part of Oak Park’s All-State 4x100 team.
Dylan Brown, Detroit Renaissance
Senior
Brown had a state-best time of 10.53 in the 100 meter dash last year, competing for Team USA in the Pan American games in early June. At the Division 1 state meet, he recorded a fifth-place time of 10.98. In the 200 meter dash, he was second-place at D1 states with a time of 21.75. He went on to lower his time to 21.25 at the Pan American Games. Brown was also a part of all-state 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams, anchoring both.
Miles Brown, Novi
Junior
Despite being just a sophomore last year, Brown was one of the most electrifying runners in Michigan. One of the state’s best 400 meter runners last year, he had a personal best time 48.54 in the 400. However, a false start a regionals prevented him from competing at the state championships. The solution? Brown won the Division 1 800 meter run in 1:51.83. He went on to place fourth at nationals with a personal-best time of 1:51.49.
Gavin Check, Detroit Catholic Central
Senior
Check was one of the state's best 300 meter hurdlers last season, finishing All-State (6th) with a time of 38.57. He also came out of nowhere to take second place at the Oakland County Championships in the 400 meter run with a time of 49.67.He also has a respectable personal best in the 110 meter hurdles of 15.63.
Ralph Donaldson, Birmingham Groves
Senior
Donaldson was sixth at the Division 1 state championships in the 200 meter dash last spring with a time of 22.04. He was also a state qualifier in the 100 meter dash and had a PR of 10.81 when he won the OAA Blue-Gold title.
Donovan Edwards, West Bloomfield
Junior
Edwards proved to be one of the state's up-and-coming sprinters last year as a sophomore. More known as a top NCAA football prospect, Edwards was All-County and All-League last year in the 100 meter and 200 meter. He has a personal best in the 100 of 11.05 and a best time of 22.56 in the 200.
Srikar Komanduri, Canton
Senior
Komanduri surprised everyone when he took second place at his region championships with a big PR of 49.87 in the 400 meter dash. He went to states in the 400 and was also a member of Canton's state-qualifying 4x200 and 4x400 teams.
Arric Miles, Sterling Heights Stevenson
Junior
As a sophomore last spring, Miles missed being All-State in the 400 by one place, finishing ninth with a personal-best time of 50.11. He was also on the 4x100 and 4x200 MAC White Division championship teams.
Tamaal Myers II, Detroit Cass Tech
Sophomore
Meyers burst onto the scene last year as a freshman and showed he was primed to be one of the state's best this season. He recorded a PR of 15.15 in the 110 hurdles to win his region title last spring. He was also the only freshman in the entire 300 meter hurdle field at the state championships, and he finished All-State with a time of 39.19. At the Junior Olympics last June, he won the 400 meter hurdles title for the 15-16 age group with a time of 52.68.
Dodi Onwuzurike, Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice
Junior
Onwuzurike was the Catholic League A-B champion in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. He focused on the 100 meter dash at the Division 1 state championships, where he placed ninth. Last season, he recorded a personal best of 10.88 in the 100 and 22.51 in the 200.
Julian Poole, Gibraltar Carlson
Senior
Poole was the Downriver League champion in the 200 meter with a PR of 22.36. He was also runner-up in the 100 meter with a time of 11.40. He has a PR of 11.23 in the 100.
Shane Ross, Oxford
Senior
One of the most dominant hurdlers in the state last spring, he was All-State in the 110 hurdles (14.77) and the 300 hurdles (38.23). He has a PR in the 110 hurdles of 14.42 and a 300 mark of 38.15.
Jacody Sikora, Farmington
Senior
He was All-County and All-Region in the 100 meter and 200 meter last year, recording personal bests of 10.93 in the 100 and 22.55 in the OAA Blue Gold championship. He was also a member of Farmington's state qualifying 4x100 and 4x200 teams. He was part of West Bloomfield's All-State team in the 4x200 as well.
Dillon Tatum, West Bloomfield
Sophomore
As a freshman last year, Tatum was electric. He earned a Division 1 All-State finish in the 400 meter dash with a PR of 49.97. He was the only freshman to compete in the D1 400 meter state championships too. He was also a member of the West Bloomfield All-State 4x200 team.
