I am writing this letter to extend my support and endorsement of Alyssa Douglass for the office of the Butte County Assessor.
I have worked in the Assessor’s Office for over 30 years (the last 11 as the Assistant Assessor). The office has been very lucky to have had a number of diligent and hard-working staff throughout the years. And for over 18 years, I feel Alyssa has been one of the most professional employees the Assessors Office has had. Additionally, the Assessor Office’s leadership (Elected Assessors) has been exceptional during my tenure. I believe Alyssa Douglass is the candidate for Assessor best suited to continue the leadership necessary for such an office to succeed in the future.
As the Assistant Assessor, I have had the opportunity to work with each candidate for Assessor in a professional capacity. Based on my interactions, the candidate’s apparent understanding (or lack thereof) of the Assessor Office’s workings, needs, budget constraints, grasp of tax law, leads me to the conclusion that Alyssa Douglass is the best candidate for the job as Butte County Assessor. I wholeheartedly support and endorse Alyssa Douglass for the position of Butte County Assessor. I’d encourage Butte County voters to do the same.
