The Natchitoches Tax Commission selection committee, tasked to find a new commissioner, concluded its interviews and announced Tuesday that Laura Dalme-Jeffcoat is its choice to replace Jerry McWherter Oct. 1. She will be acting commissioner until the October board meeting where a vote should confirm the committee decision according to committee member Lee Waskom.
“She is a great choice to move our commission into the future and we look forward to working with her,” Waskom said. Other selection committee members are Julie Lockhart representing Parish Government and Debbie Miley representing the City. Waskom represented the Natchitoches Parish School Board.
