Conservative firebrand Candace Owens has hit back at mocking comments she is "pro-choice" after she declared that "medical freedom is an individual right."

The controversial pundit made the comments when she once again railed against the COVID-19 vaccine and declared no one in her family would have it.

Owens, 32, posted on Twitter to her 2.7 million followers on Wednesday: "Not one person in my family will ever touch the COVID-19 vaccine. That is the decision that we have made, unabashedly, as a family.

"Medical freedom is an individual right that should never be infringed upon and any person who thinks otherwise has no place in our government."

Her comment was liked more than 18,100 times and was retweeted on more than 2,600 occasions.

But, the pundits comments were mocked on the social media platform after she once again spoke out over the vaccine.

The Root writer Michael Harriot posted a quote tweet that read: "Bold move by Candace to come out as pro-choice."

His comment was followed by dozens of other users who also poked fun at Owens' reaction and called her statement pro-choice.

Owens later quote tweeted Harriot's comment and posted: "I have always been pro-medical-choice and anti-the murder of infants. Not sure why this seems to have startled some on the Left who wish to conflate the two ideologies."

The conservative figure has previously been outspoken on opposing abortion. In May 2019, Owens shared an inflammatory tweet where she said "Planned Parenthood is voluntary genocide for black America."

Owens shares similar views to many Conservatives in America, including her claims that she will not be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Red states have seen a lower take-up of the vaccine, with Alabama having 30.83 percent of its population jabbed, compared to leader Vermont with 60.04 percent.

The vaccination rollout study by the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine also found Mississippi, Arkansas, Wyoming and Louisiana—all states that voted for Republican President Donald Trump in 2020—to be among the bottom five, with Alabama, in the share of people who were fully vaccinated.

She also made comments saying that leading expert on infectious diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci should be "put into federal prison," following the leak of his emails that discussed coronavirus.

Her conservative leanings and star power on the right saw her listed as one of Newsweek's top MAGA influencers following Trump's social-media ban.
