ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester restaurant is giving back to the community just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The People’s Choice Kitchen spent time Wednesday handing out food and meals to folks in the community.
Donations came in from several people and organizations in the community, including Palmers and Salvatore’s Soccer Sam. About 100 jars of donated Boss Sauce and hot items were handed out.
Plenty of volunteers came by to pitch in and help give back to some very appreciative people in the community.
“I just love everyone for showing up to help out. This is what it’s all about, giving back to the community,” Evangela Stanley, People’s Choice owner, said.
“God is blessing us and I tell Ev to continue to do what she’s doing to what she’s doing in our community. She is making a difference,” Teshondra Bradley of Rochester added.
Last year during the holiday season, Stanley offered customers the option to pay what you can afford for her Jamaican and soul food.
Just before Christmas they endured a robbery, but continue to give back.
