ELKINS — Starting tomorrow, readers can cast their votes to choose the “Best of the Best” in The Inter-Mountain’s People’s Choice Contest.
Readers nominated their favorite businesses and service people online in December and now it is time to vote. Go to theintermountain.com, click on the People’s Choice banner at the bottom of the page and vote.
All qualified nominations have made it to the vote round and will be listed in a print section in The Inter-Mountain’s Saturday edition. Voting online will run from Saturday to Feb. 19.
One winner and two finalists from each category will be published in The Inter-Mountain on March 26.
In The Inter-Mountain’s People’s Choice contest, readers have the last word. We’re proud to host it as a way to recognize the places and people that make this region special.
One reader will be randomly drawn from the nomination round and one reader from the voting round to win $100 each.
We are also having a contest for our businesses — for the most nominations and then the most votes. The business with the most will win a full-page process ad; second-most will win a half-page process ad and third-most will win a quarter-page process ad.
Now the contest is more important than ever, with so many restaurants, businesses and organizations challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are stepping up to the challenge by making the contest bigger and better than ever to provide even more visibility to area businesses and organizations.
This year the nominating and voting processes will be slightly different, in order to give our readers more opportunity to name their favorites.
“The People’s Choice Contest winners will still be published in The Inter-Mountain in a special section, just like always before,” I-M Advertising Director Michelle Smith said.
The voting round will be held exclusively online this year so that more people in the area can have their say by casting their votes. What’s more, people may vote once per day in any or all categories.
With the daily online voting, you can vote once per category per day, so you can really show your support for your favorites.
The voting round will determine the People’s Choice winners and finalists.
We know the People’s Choice contest is important to the local businesses and organizations that compete. So, we are taking steps this year to increase transparency in our rules and decisions about which nominees are eligible for which categories.
Nominees/entrants are prohibited from soliciting votes by offering payments or exchange of value of any kind.
Voting is limited to one vote in each category per person per day.
