Zanies has reopened its Chicago and Rosemont venues with capacity limited to 50 reasonably well-spaced patrons, including away from the stage. In an attempt to fight off an existential crisis, the historic stand-up club, which usually seats about 125, has instigated many changes, including temperature checks at the front door, a mask requirement when not seated at a table, hand-sanitizer everywhere, the usual cleaning protocols and a phased, socially distant procedure for entrances and exits.
