I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! I spent the past week taking a trip with just my mom. We’ve had an incredible time at one of my favorite hotels, and I look forward to sharing my experience shortly.

On the points & travel front, this week we saw huge new bonuses on Chase Sapphire cards, American revealed it would “unground” all planes by May, JetBlue secured London Heathrow slots, Air New Zealand operated an 11+ hour flight to nowhere, and more.

With that out of the way, here’s a recap of this week on the blog:

Official: JetBlue Secures London Heathrow Airport Slots

JetBlue plans to begin flying to London this summer with its A321LR aircraft, featuring an all new Mint business class product.

One major issue has been figuring out which London-area airport to fly to, given how hard it can be to secure London Heathrow slots. There’s a positive update on that front for JetBlue, as the airline has managed to secure slots for London’s most coveted airport.

Are We About To Enter The Golden Age Of Travel? I’m Skeptical…

For those in the United States (and other countries doing well with vaccinations), it’s such an exciting time. We’re on the cusp of widespread vaccination, and it’s looking like people will hopefully be able to do some guilt-free travel this coming summer.

That’s reason to celebrate and be excited. However, I saw that @xJonNYC linked to a story that had an interesting take on how we’re about to enter the “golden age” of travel, and I have my doubts.
