Just kidding. It's Patrice Bergeron. I apologize a thousand times.
In a move so predictable and obvious that hot takes about it were rendered utterly useless, the Bruins made it official on Thursday: Bergeron is their new captain, succeeding the departed Zdeno Chara. Bergeron becomes the 20th captain in Bruins franchise history, joining fellow legends such as Ray Bourque, Johnny Bucyk, and Milt Schmidt for the title.

We'll see who gets Bergeron's 'A' as the newest alternate captain, but No. 1 defenseman Charlie McAvoy should be the leader in the clubhouse. Especially if the idea is to make him the new leader of the defense after parting ways with Chara.
I won't waste words on why Bergeron deserves to be the Bruins' captain, because I'm not telling the fans anything they don't already know. But clearly this was a long time coming and now it's simply official. That 'C' looks tremendous on Bergeron's sweater.
